How to Use Palo Santo in Your Sound Bath

As a person working in the healing arts and who identifies as an empath, utilizing palo santo to ensure my energy is clear after a sound bath is key, leaving behind unwanted energies that aren’t mine.

Before playing a sound bath and just after setting up, I light palo santo at a 45 degree angle, keeping the flame on the stick for about 30 seconds and then wave it around gently to put out the flame. I move around the space with the palo santo, smudging and clearing the room and also myself and then place it on the ground near me. I follow the same steps after playing and once participants have left.
